FUNZIONE FREE-COOLING (sistema FC)

FREE-COOLING FUNCTION (FC system)

Available only for DXW/FC units (eprom CZX).

The free-cooling function excludes the possibility of the outdoor air temperature sensor installation.

To enable the function follows these instructions:

-install the water inlet temperature sensor on input J2 - B4 of Board "A".

-from "Unit configuration" select "Probe selection" and enable the inlet "Inlet water temp. Y".

-from "Unit configuration" select "Analog output 1" and enable "Cooling+Freecooling".

-Set the new compressors values (xdz) as indicated in the previous page.

The Free-cooling system running is parallel to the com- pressors working; in this way it is possible to make a pre- cooling of the handled air, activating the compressors only to provide the cooling capacity necessary for the full bal- ance of the load (partial free-cooling), or a total cooling without compressors (total free-cooling).

The system activates when there is cooling request and the difference (DT) between the room temperature and the water inlet temperature is equal or higher than 2°C (fixed value).

In this condition the system closes the contact J6 - C12 of the Board "A" for the remote pumping group water pump enabling.

In the same time, the P1 cooling proportional signal opens the free-cooling valve.

The P1 signal is active at 40% of the value and deactivates at 30%.

The free-cooling system is deactivated when the difference between the water inlet temperature and the room tem- perature is 1,5°C (fixed value).

FC SYSTEM WORKING LOGIC

This working mode can be obtained by integrating the FREE-COOLING system with the water circuit of the PEGASUS DXW units and connecting them to an external dissipation system (dry cooler CVE/H) and to a pumping group (PWU).

The system is fully managed by the MP2000 microproces- sor control system (14) installed as standard on the unit. The sensor (5) transmits the temperature of the glycol solution coming from the external dry cooler (3) to the MP2000 allowing continuous comparison with the return air temperature.

Whit a return air temperature 2°C higher than the glycol solution one, the MP2000 system activates the valve (6) to modulate the quantity of water passing through the coil (1) achieving a total or partial free cooling of the air being handled .
