OSPF is designed to operate with larger networks. It does not impose a
•Full subnetting support
OSPF can fully support subnetting, including Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM).
•Tagged routes
Routes can be tagged with arbitrary values. This eases interoperation with Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGPs), which can tag OSPF routes with AS numbers.
•Meshed networks
OSPF provides the ability to support complex meshed networks.
The following features are incorporated in Foundry’ implementation of OSPF.
