3.2.3 Volume Creation
Use ETERNUS Web GUI to create a volume in the ETERNUS Disk storage system according to the
disk type of the Shadow Copy destination. After volume creation, check that the created LUN can be
recognized by the backup server.
When creating a SDV, note the following. For details, refer to the user guide for ETERNUS Web GUI.
•The logical capacity must be the same as that of the source disk.
•Specify the physical capacity that is calculated in "3.2.2 Shadow Copy Destination Disk Capacity
Estimation" (page 31).
•When a "Snap Data Pool (SDP)" is created, even if the capacity of an SDV is insufficient, capacity
is automatically added to this SDV from the SDP. This enables the user to deal with any
unexpected increases in the work load.
