Deleting a Shadow Copy destination
Procedure
1Select a disk that is not to be a Shadow Copy destination from [Target disk list] (multiple
selections can be made), and click the [<---] button.
The disk is moved to [Disk list].
2Click the [OK] button.
The disks in [Target disk list] and [Used target disk list] are registered in the target disk pool
management file.
This deletes the disks selected in [Target disk list] that are not to be used as Shadow Copy
destinations from the target disk pool management file.
End of procedure
Only the information on the disks that are currently connected to the backup server is displayed in
the Target Disk Pool Registration/Deletion window.
Even if a disk is already registered in [Target Disk], if the disk is not currently connected to the
backup server, the disk does not appear in the Target Disk Pool Registration/Deletion window. If
the [OK] button is clicked in this status, the disk is excluded from the target disk pool
management.
If multiple mount points or drive letters are allocated to one disk, one of them is displayed.
If the target disk pool management information is changed during a backup operation using
VSSHP, the target disk pool management information may be corrupted.
Do not change the Shadow Copy destination during a backup operation.
When the following information is displayed in the Target Disk Pool Registration/Deletion window,
a backup operation using the disk may be in progress.
-Error message STXV0902 is displayed after a physical disk number in [Disk list]
-Disks without physical disk numbers are displayed in the [Used target disk list]
Click the [CANCEL] button to close the window, check that a backup operation from requester is
not in progress, and try again.
