Make sure that the telephone cord is securely connected on both ends. Press and hold STOP/CLEAR for seven seconds to check for a dial tone.
Make sure the phone line is working by disconnecting the HP LaserJet 3100/ 3150 product, plugging in a telephone to the phone line, and making a voice call. Connect the product to a different phone line.
