5-39. Preferred Method. Two dc standards(-hp- 7a0B) are necessary for this method, making it possible to check performance at variouslevelsof EXT REF voltage and INPUT voltage. Both dc standardsmust be floating,

since IMUT Low and EXT REF Low terminals are connectedinternally. If only one dc standardis availa- ble, go to Paragraph540.

a. Set 3490A RATIO switch to EXT REF I V. Connect a dc standardto 3490A INPUT terminalsand adjuststandardoutput to + 0.10000V.

b.Set 349OA FUNCTION to DC, RANGE to 1 V. Connect a seconddc standardto 3490A IMUT termi_ nalsand adjust standardoutput to + g.lgggg V. 3490A displayshouldbe + 0.99955to + 1.00045.

c.SelectEXT REF and INPUT rangesand voltages listed in Table 5-7. Display should be within limits shovmin eachcase.
