Conﬁguring Dependent LUs

Overview

This chapter provides instructions for conﬁguring LUs and LU pools to support user applications that use 3270, TN3270, RJE and LUA communications. To use these, you must conﬁgure dependent LUs. Before you can conﬁgure the resources described in this chapter, you must perform the following conﬁguration:

•Conﬁgure the node as described in “Conﬁguring the Node”.

•Conﬁgure connectivity as described in Chapter 5, “Deﬁning Connectivity Components.” For 3270, TN3270, RJE, and LUA, you must conﬁgure the link to support dependent LU trafﬁc.

You do not need to conﬁgure a direct link to the host if you are using upstream PU concentrator DLUR. For more information, see “Deﬁning DLUR PUs”.
