TROUBLESHOOTING
Before contacting the Humminbird® Customer Resource Center, pleaseread the
followingsection.Takingthe time to reviewthese troubleshootingguidelinesmay allow
youto solvea performanceproblem yourself,and thereforeavoid sendingyour unit back
forrepair.
NOTE:Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself, as there are no user serviceable parts
inside,and special tools and techniques are required for reassembly in order to maintain
the waterproofintegrity of the housing. Repairs should be performed only by authorized
Humminbird®technicians.

ICE Flasher Series™ Fishfinder Doesn’t PowerUp

If your ICEFlasher Series™ control head doesn’tpower up, refer to the Installation
section,and make surethat:
• the power cable isproperly connectedto the ICE Flasher Series™Fishfinder;
• the power cable iswired correctly,with red to positive batteryterminal and black
tonegative terminalor ground;
• the battery voltageof the power connectoris between 10.5 and 20VDC.
Correctany known problems,including removingcorrosion from the batteryterminals
orwiring, or actuallyreplacing the batteryif necessary.

No Bottom Reading on the Display

If thereis no bottom reading visible on the display,there are a number of possible
causesfor this condition,including:
• check the transducercable connection on the backof the ICE Flasher Series™
controlhead and make surethat the cable to the transducerhas not been cut or
pinched,aseven a small abrasionin the cablecan affect performancesignificantly.

No Continuous Depth Display in VeryShallow Water

Losing continuousdepth when the transducer is in very shallowwater is normal,
becausethe automaticrange controlcannot lock onto the bottomin depths of one foot
orless.

Screen Fades, Images AreNot Sharp

Ifthe screen begins to fade, andimages are not as sharp as normal,check the input
voltage.The ICEFlasher Series™ will notoperate on input voltagesbelow 10.5 VDC.
