HOW ICE FLASHERS WORK
Althoughthe sonar partof an ICE Flasher Series™Fishfinder works inthe same way as
anyother Humminbird® controlhead, the return signalis displayed differently. The ICE
FlasherSeries™ LCDis modeled on the originalanalog displaysand represents whatis
happeningbelow the transducer the momentit happens. The Flasher Dialdisplays a
multicolorpaletteindicatinglow to high sonarintensity returns, where red indicateshigh
intensityand greenindicates low intensity.See Color Palettesfor more information.
When fishswim into the area below the transducer, the new sonar returnsignal is
immediatelydisplayed on the FlasherDial. Depending on the size of thefish and its
closenessto the transducer, the sonar returnwill be displayed as a weak, medium, or
strongsonar signal.
Inthe above example, the sonar returnsignal from the jig is displayedas a weak signal
(green),the fish is displayedas a medium signal(yellow), and the bottomcomposition
isdisplayed asa strong signal (red). When the fish swimstowards your jig,you can see
theactivity instantly on yourFlasher Dial. Also, the ActiveDisplay shows that theICE
