Using IBM SPSS Modeler with a Repository
Topics. Youcan search on models associated w ith specic topics from a list set by repository
users with the appropriate privileges (for more information, see the Deployment Manager User’s
Guide). To obtain the list, check this box, then click the Add Topics button that is displayed, select
one or more topics from the list and click OK.
Label. Restricts the search to specic object version labels.
Dates. Youcan specify a creation o rm odication date and search on objects before, after, or
between the specied date range.
Author. Restrictsth e search to objects created by a specic user.
Keywords. Search on specic keywords. In SPSS Modeler, keywords are specied on the
Annotation tab for a stream, model, or output object.
Description. Search on specic terms in the description eld. In SPSS Mod eler,the descrip tion is
specied on the Annotation tab for a stream, model, or output object. Multiple search phrases
can be separated by semicolons—for example,
income; crop type; claim value
. (Note that within
a search phrase, spaces matter. For example,
crop type
with one space and
crop type
with two
spaces are not the same.)
Modifying Repository Objects
Youcan modify existing objects in th e repository directly from SPSS Modeler. You can:
Create, rename, or delete folders
Lock or unlock objects
Delete objects

Creating, Renaming, and Deleting Folders

EToperform operation s on folders in the repository,o n the SPSS Modeler main menu click:
Tools> Repository > Explore...
ESpecify connection settings to the repository if necessary. For more informatio n, seet he
topic Connecting to the Repository on p. 161. For specic port, password, and other connection
details, contact your local system administrator.
EEnsure that the Folders tab is active.
ETocreate a new fold er,right-clic k the parent folder and click New Folder.
ETorename a folde r,right-click it and click Renam e Folder.
ETodelete a folde r,right-click it and cli ckD elete Folder.

Locking and Unlocking Repository Objects

Youcan lock an object to prevent other users from updatin g any of itsex isting versions or creating
new versions. A locked object is indicated by a padlock symbol over the object icon.
