Using IBM SPSS Modeler with a Repository
Scoringnode. Select a graph, output or export node to identify the stream branch to be used for
scoring the data. While the stream can actuall y contain any number of valid branches, models, and
terminal nodes, one and only one scoring branch must be designated for purposes of deployment.
This is the most basic requirement to deploy any stream.
ScoringPa rameters. Allows you to sp ecify parameters that can be modied when the scoring
branch is run. For more information, see t he topic Scoring and Modeling Parameters on p. 188.
Modelingnode. For model refresh, species the modeling node used to regenerate or update the
model in the repository. Must be a modeling node of the same typ e as that specied for
Model
nugget.
ModelBuild Parameters. Allowsyou to specify parameters tha t can be modied when the modeling
node is run. For more information, see the topic Scoring and Modeling Para meters on p. 188.
Modelnugget. For model refresh, species the model nugget that will be updated or regenerated
each time the stream is updated in the repository (typically as part ofa scheduled job). Themodel
must be located on the scoring branch. While multiple models may exist on the scoring b ranch,
only one can be designated. Note that when the stream is initial lyc reated this may effectively be a
placeholder model that is updated or regenerated as new data is available.
Deploy as stream. Click this option if you wa nt tou se the stream with IBM SPSS Modeler
Advantage or IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services (and see note following).
Deployas scenario. Clickt his option if you want to use the stream with IBM SPSS Collaboration
and Deployment Services or Predictive Applications version 5 (and see note following).
Check. Click this button to check whether this is a valid stream for deployment. Allstrea ms must
have a designated scoring node before they can be deployed. Ifyou are deplo ying as a scenario,
the stream must also contain a valid Enterprise View source node. Error messages are displayed
if these conditions are not satised.
Store. Deploys thestream if it isvalid. If not, an error messageis displayed. Click the
Fix button,
correct the error and try again.
PreviewStream Descrip tion. Enables you to view the contents of the s tream description that SPSS
Modeler creates for the stream. For more inform ation, see the topic Stream Descriptions in
Chapter 5 on p. 74.
Note: (Deploy as stream or scenario) Multiple Enterprise View nodes can be used within the
modeling branch. If so, using a single data connection fo ra llE nterprise Viewnodes w ithin the
branch is preferable in most cases, and is required for Champion Challenger analysis.
If Champion Challenger support is not required, different Enterprise View connections can
be used within the same branch, as long as the connections vary by data provider denition
(DPD) only.
These limitations apply within a given branch only. Between the scoring and m odel building
branches, different Enterprise View connections can be used without such restrictions.
