Changing Needle

[] Turn off the power switch_
Raise the needle to its highest position by turning
the handwheel counterclockwise, toward you, and
tower the presser foot°
Loosen the needle clamp screw (D by turning it
counterclockwise..
Remove the needle from the clamp (_).
[] Insert a new needle into the needle clamp (_) with
the flat side to the rear.
When inserting the needle into the needle clamp
@),push itup as far as it goes Tighten the needle
clamp screw O firmly by turning it clockwise
[] To check for a good needle, place the flat side of
the needIe onto something flat (needle plate, gIass,
etc°)
The gap between the needle and the flat surface
should be consistent. Never use a bent or blunt
needle.
A damaged needle can cause permanent snags
or runs in knits, fine silks and silk-like fabrics

Changing Presser Foot

(_) Thumb screw
To change the presser foot, raise the presser bar.
Loosen the thumb screw, choose the proper foot and
insert from the bottom.
Tighten the thumb screw using thelarge screwdriver
to make certain the foot is secure.
