Understanding the printer menus		114
	Use	To
	Alarms	Set an alarm when the printer requires user intervention.
	Alarm Control	When activated, Alarm Control lets you set the number of times
	Cartridge Alarm	that the alarm sounds, while Cartridge Alarm lets you stop printing
	Staple Alarm	when a cartridge-low condition occurs.
	Hole Punch Alarm	For each alarm type, select from the following options:
		Off
		Single
		Continuous
		Notes:
		• Off is the factory default setting for Cartridge Alarm, Staple
		Alarm, and Hole Punch Alarm. This means no alarm will
		sound.
		• Single is the factory default setting for Alarm Control. This
		sounds three quick beeps.
		• Continuous repeats three beeps every 10 seconds.
	Timeouts	Set the amount of time the printer waits after a job is printed before
	Sleep Mode	it goes into a reduced power state.
	Disabled	Notes:
	1–120	• 30 is the factory default setting.
		• Disabled appears only when Energy Conserve is set to Off.
		• Lower settings conserve more energy, but may require
		longer warm‑up times.
		• Select a high setting if the printer is in constant use. Under
		most circumstances, this keeps the printer ready to print
		with minimum warm‑up time.
	Timeouts	Set the printer to operate at a low power state.
	Hibernate Timeout	Notes:
	Disabled
		• When the Hibernate Timeout timer expires, the printer uses
	1 hour
		Ethernet connection to check the value of “Hibernate
	2 hours
		Timeout on Connection.”
	3 hours
		• If “Hibernate Timeout on Connection” is set to “Do Not
	6 hours
		Hibernate,” then the printer never automatically hibernates.
	1 day
		• If “Hibernate Timeout on Connection” is set to “Hibernate,”
	2 days
		then the printer follows the Hibernate Timeout value, except
	3 days
		when it is set to Disabled.
	1 week	• Disabled is the factory default setting except for European
	2 weeks
		Union countries and Switzerland.
	1 month	• “3 days” is the factory default setting for European Union
		countries and Switzerland.
