The only message field is the extension number that has been provisionally checked out. If the extension number is less than six digits, left justify the number and fill the remaining bytes with space (20H) characters. When maid status is not performed, room status is set to “Vacant” (Room Status = ‘0’, Cleaning Status = ‘3’); if maid status is performed, room status is set to “Out” (Room Status = ‘0’, Cleaning Status = ‘0’).

Message fields are:

Extension -- Extension number. If the extension number is less than six digits, left justify the number and fill the remaining bytes with space (20H) characters.

Status -- Message Waiting Lamp status. The status values are:

0 -- No text messages waiting.

1 -- Message waiting set by the NEAX.

4 -- Message waiting set by the PMS.

5 -- Message waiting set by the PMS and the NEAX.

Option -- Message Waiting status option. This field must always contain zero (‘0’).

VMC -- This is reserved for future use. Should be filled with two space (20H) characters.
