Short Text Messages
Youcan receive, display, edit and/or send short text messages, of up
to160 characters to mobile phones on the same network or any
networkthat has a roaming agreement.

Setting the Phone for Text Messages

Beforeyou can send a message you must enter the Message Centre
numberinto Parameters (your Service Provider will supply the
MessageCentre number).
TheMessage Centre number may have been preprogrammed, on
yourSIM card.

Setting the Message Centre Number

1FromIdle mode press Q, select Messages > Short Message
>Parameters > Message Centre and press Q

Sending a Text Message

1FromIdle mode press Q, select Messages > Short Message
>Create and press Q
2Useeto select one of the pre-defined messages to be used as
abasis and press Qtwice, or select <Create> and press Q
3Usegto navigate through the message and add any extra
text(up to a total of 160 characters) see Text Entrypage 62
4PressQtwice
Youwill be prompted if you wish to send the message, if you do not
wishto send the message press B, the message will be stored.
5PressQand enter the destination phone number (or recall a
numberfrom the Phonebook) - see Retrieve a Numberpage
13and press Q
6PressQtwice
7Youmay be asked if you wish to have delivery confirmation. If
youdo not want confirmation use eto select NO then press
Q.If you do, use eto select Yes then press Q
