OFF(off)SMALL (small)LARGE (large)
#Youcannot select OFF, when FRONT (front
speakers)have been selected.

SUBWOOFER (subwoofer) has been selected.
#Youcan switch REVERSE (reverse phase) or
NORMAL(normal phase), when PHASE (subwoo-
fersetting) has been selected.

Correctingthe subwoofersphase

Iftr ying to boost the bass output of the sub-
wooferdoesnt do much or rather makes you
feelthat the bass gets more murky, this may
indicatethat the subwoofer s output and bass
contentyou hear over other speakers cancel
eachother out. To remove this problem, try
changingthe phase setting for the subwoofer.
1 TouchA.MENU and AUDIO and then
touchNEXT.
2 TouchSP SET.
3 Touchaor bto select SUB WOOFER
(subwoofer).
Eachtime you touch aor bselects the speak-
erin the following order:
FRONT(front speakers)CENTER (center
speaker)REAR(rear speakers)
SUBWOOFER (subwoofer)PHASE (sub-
woofersetting)
4 Touchdto turn subwoofer output on.
#Toturn subwoofer output off, touch c.
5 Touchband then touch cor dto se-
lectthe phase of subwoofer output.
Touchdto select normal phase and
NORMALappears in the display. Touch cto
selectreverse phase and REVERSE appears in
thedisplay.
Note
Whenplaying a 2-channel mono source with Pro
Logicturned on, there may be occasions when
thefollowing will occur:
!Noaudio is output if the center speaker set-
tingis SMALL or LARGE and no center speak-
eris installed.
!Audiois heard only over the center speaker if
installedand the center speaker setting is
SMALLor LARGE.
Selecting a cut-off frequency
Youcan select a frequency, under which
soundsare reproduced through the subwoo-
fer.If the installed speakers include one whose
sizehas been set to SMALL, you can select a
frequency,under which sounds are repro-
ducedthrough a LARGE speaker or subwoo-
fer.

3 Touchcor dto select cut-off fre-
quency.
Eachtime you touch cor dselects cut-off fre-
quenciesin the following order:

Note
Selectinga cut-off frequency is to set a cut-off fre-
quencyof the subwoofers L.P.F.(low-pass filter)
andthat of the SMALL speaker H.P.F.(high-pass
filter).The cut-off frequency setting has no effect
ifthe subwoofer is set to OFF and other speakers
areset to LARGE or OFF.
