Baud Rate

Values: 300 ± 19,200. Must be set to match your host computer. The factory default is 9600.

Baud rate is the number of bits, including control bits (start/stop and parity bits) transferred per second over the interface.

Data Bits

Values: 5 ± 8. Must be set to match your host computer. The factory default is 8.

Serial interfaces support 5-, 6-, 7- and 8-bit transfer of data words. Most use 8-bit data transfer, but this must match the host computer.

Stop Bits

Values: 1 or 2. Must be set to match your host computer. The factory default is 1.

Stop bits signal the end of a transferred data word.

Parity

Values: NONE, EVEN or ODD. Must be set to match your host computer. The factory default is NONE.

The host system may send a parity bit with every data word. The parity bit is used for error checking.

DTR Function

Values: ENABLE or DISABLE. The factory default is ENABLE. Must be set to match your host computer.

This selection determines if the DTR and CTS signals are used for flow control.
