Note: In the u740, Java applications need to be run in the display mode that it

started in. For example, if the application is started in Portrait mode, closing the flip

and then opening the flip in Landscape mode will suspend the application, and a

reminder message to use the other orientation will be displayed. Simply close the

flip and re-open it in the other orientation to access the running application.

IM & Email

The u740 comes pre-loaded with an IM and e-mail application that you can use in

either Portrait or Landscape mode. In Landscape mode, the full keyboard can be

used, which makes text entry much simpler and faster. Please see "Email -

Landscape Mode" on page 129 for information on using this functionality in

Landscape mode.

Downloading IM & Email

1. Press , highlight the Downloads menu, and press .

2. Highlight IM & Email and press .

3. Highlight Windows LiveTM and press to start the application.
