Application
The module is used to connect the followi ng systems/devicesto
theCS 275 bus system:
OS 520operation and monitoringsystem
SICOMP industry-standard PC
HP 9000/7xx workstation
AT-compatiblepersonal comput er.
For adaptation to the bus communication, a coupling software
must be installed in these dev ices (except of OS 520 sys-
tem).The interface module N -AThandles dut ies specifically con-
nected with data transmiss ion, including occasional control of
datatransfer.
Design
Plug-in card in long AT format with one plug on the front panel .
Slot: extension slot in AT format in the above-ment ioned
devices.
The interface module N-AT contains:
An SAB 80 188 microprocessor for controlling and monitoring
all functions
A dual-portRAM system interface tothe AT bus with asso-
ciated control logic
An interface to the 20-m local bus with bus interface logic.
Mode of operation
Data received via the CS 275 bus system pass throughthe line
protocol controller of the bus inter face logic in bit-serial mode
and are placed into intermediate s torage. The microprocessor
reads the data byte-by-byte and s tores them in the buffer
memory of the module.
As soon as sufficient space is available in the dual-por t RAM for
a complete message, this is entered into the receiver order li st
of the dual-port RAM. Transmit messages are transfer redf rom
the coupling software to the dual-por t RAM system interface
and entered into the transmitt er order list.
