Restoring the Router's factory settings

If you have made configuration settings on the router in error, with the result that you
can no longer access the router's configuration interface, you can reset the router to its
factory settings.
You may need to do this, for example, if you have forgotten your password, if you have
activated WEP encryption but have forgotten the key for configuring the network
adapters, or if you activate the access control for wireless access to th e local network but
the access list is empty (see page68).
To reset your router to its factory settings, proceed as follows:
Switch off the router by unplugging the power cord from it.
Press the reset button on the back of the router and hold it down.
While holding down the reset button, switch the router on again (re-connect the
power cord).
Wait for at least 5 seconds. Now release the reset button.
It will take a few seconds for the router to restart. You can now log on again and
configure the router once more.
!Remember that a complete router reset will reset all your configuration
settings to the factory settings. This means that you will have to
reconfigure your route r from scratch.
