Glossary

Store and forward	In this switching technique, the entire frame is read in, before it is for-
	warded by the switch. A packet is only passed on if it is error-free.
TELNET	With this protocol, an interactive connection can be established to an-
	other device in the LAN or on the Internet. The user then has the same
	options as when directly connected to this device with a terminal.
TP Port	Port with a TP connector (RJ-45 jack)
VLAN	Virtual LAN within a physically existing network.
