Rehearsal

Before sampling space reverberation, you should rehearse to adjust the input level from microphones. For the rehearsal, install the microphones and speakers in the same positions as those for sampling.

Adjust the input level from the microphones to a level as approximate to 0 dB as possible.

1 Start the DASK-S704 and show the initial display.

For starting the DASK-S704, see page 7.

2 Turn the jog dial to highlight “Rehearsal.”

5 Adjust the gain on the power amplifier so that the output sound pressure of the speakers is about 100 dB(A) SPL.

Note

The TSP signal output level is very high. To avoid damaging the speakers, adjust the gain of the power amplifier carefully.

6 Adjust the input level from the microphones on the microphone amplifier so that the input level approximates 0 dB as much as possible.

The output meter may deflect over its maximum reading intermittently. This is not a problem.

To hold the peak value on the level meter, press the F2 key (PeakHold) to highlight the PeakHold indicator.

7 To finish the level adjustment, press the F4 key.

“Please wait for a few seconds.” is displayed, then the initial display returns.
