3 If you selected “VAR” in step 2, set the parameter value by holding down the corresponding button and rotating the jog dial, while viewing the video.

Setting values vary with the rotation speed of the jog dial.

4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 as required to set other parameters.

5 Press the STATUS button to return to the normal screen.

This section describes the following types of playback:

Normal playback

Playback at normal (±1) speed

Playback in jog mode

Variable speed playback, with the speed determined by the speed of turning the jog dial

Playback in shuttle mode

Variable speed playback, with the speed determined by the angular position of the shuttle dial

Normal playback

First insert a disc.

To start playback Press the PLAY button. Playback starts.

When two or more clips are recorded on the disc, they are played back continuously.

Note

No audio is output when non-audio signals are played back.

To jump to the next or previous clip, then start playback

Use the PREV button, NEXT button, jog dial, or shuttle dial.

To stop playback

Press the STOP button.

If you play back to the end of the last clip Playback automatically stops.

If, in this state, you press the PLAY button, the message “ALARM DISC END.” appears on the monitor.

To carry out playback again, move back to the desired clip using the PREV button, jog dial or shuttle dial.

To record an essence mark

While playing back a disc, you can record essence marks such as shot mark 1 and shot mark 2 in desired frames. To record a shot mark 1 or shot mark 2, hold down the F/ MARK1 or f/MARK2 button and press the SET button.

Note

To erase or change essence marks, use the supplied PDZ-1 Proxy Browsing Software.

Playback in jog mode

In jog mode, you can control the speed of playback by the speed of turning the jog dial. The playback speed range is ±1 times normal speed.

To carry out playback in jog mode, proceed as follows.
