Selectthe modecompatiblewith your computerand software.In standard modethe printeroperateslike theEpsonLX-850.In IBMmodeit operates like the IBM Propnnter HI. The ON positionselects standardmode. The OFFpositionselectsIBM mode.

Switch 1-2: Does your softwaredownloadcharactersto the printer?

Inorderto downloadcharactemthisswitchmustbein the OFFposition.The printer then uses its RAM memory for storing character patterns and providesonlya one-lineprintbuffer.If youleavethisswitchON,theprinter usesitsRAMmemoryasaninputbuffer,allowingthecomputerto senddata fasterthan the printerprints.
