LOCATING THE PRINTER

Beforeyoustart unpackingandsettingupyour printer,makesurethat you
haveasuitableplaceon whichtolocateit. By“a suitableplace”,wemean:

Afirm,level surfacewhichis fairlyvibration-free
Awayfrom excessiveheat(suchas directsunlight,heaters,etc)
Awayfrom excessivehumidity
Awayfrom excessivedust
Supplyitwith “clean”electricity.Donot connectittothe samecircuitas
alarge,noise-producingappliancesuchasarefrigerator.
Make sure the line voltage is the voltage specifiedon the printer’s
identificationplate.
To discomectthe printerthe plughasto be disconnectedfromthe wall
socket,whichhas tobe locatedclose tothe printer,andeasy toaccess.
Installthe printer wherethemis sufficientroom for thepaper and any
paperbeingfed in orprinted out.
Ifyou areconnectingyourprinterwithaparallelcable,makesurethatthe
cableis within2m {6-fi)oftheprinter. AnRS-232connectionusingthe
optionalSPC-8Kinterfacecanbe madeover longerdistances.
