The ON LINE buttonsetstheprinter on-lineandoff-line.Thestatuschanges
eachtime youpressthe button.
Whentheprinteris on-line,itcanreceiveandprint datafromthecomputer.
Whentheprinterisoff-line,itstopsprintingandsendsthe computerasignal
indicatingthatit cannotacceptdata.
Theprinterpowersup intheon-linestatusif paperisloaded.If paperisnot
loaded,the printerpowersup off-linewith thePOWERindicatorflashing.
Whenyou loadpaper,the POWERindicatorstops flashing,butthe printer
remainsoff-line.Tostartprintingyoumust presstheONLINEbuttongoon-
line.
Youwill wantto pressthe ONLINEbuttonare:
●Beforeand afteranyother paneloperation
The otherpanel buttons operateonly in the off-line state. Press the
ONLINE buttonto go off-line.Afterperformingthepaneloperation(s),
pressthe ONLINE buttonagainto goback on-line.
●Topause duringprinting
Ifyoupress theONLINEbuttonduringprinting,theprinterstopsprinting
andgoesoff-line,allowingyouto checktheprintoutorchangeacontrol
panelsetting.PrintingresumeswhenyoupresstheONLINEbuttonagain
to goback on-line.
●To cut,fanfoldformsat theendof printing
Whenusingfanfoldforms,youcanholdtheONLINE buttondownforone
second.In additionto going off-line,the printer alsofeeds thepaper
forwardapproximatelytwo inches.This allows youto cut it off just
belowthe lastlineprinted.
Whenyoupress theONLINEbuttonagain togo backon-line,thepaper
feedsbackwardstoppingwhereyou leftoff.
NOTE: Thisfunctionis valid onlywhenthe bufferis empty.
