MAINTENANCE
Essentially,your printeris arobustpiece of equipment, but shouldbe treated
with amodicum of care inorder to avoid malfunctions. For example:
Keep yourprinter in a“comfortable” environment. Roughly speaking, if
youare comfortable, then the environment is suitable for yourprinter (see
Chapter 2).
Do not subjectthe printer to physical shocks or excessive vibration.
Avoid over-dusty environments. Dust is the enemy of all precision
mechanical devices.
Toclean theexterior ofthe printer,use acloth barelydampened with either
water with alittledetergent or alittle alcohol, but do not allow any liquid
to fall insidethe printer.
The interiorof the printer maybe cleaned with asmall vacuum cleaner or
acompressed-air aerosol (sold for this purpose). When performing this
operation, be sure not to bend or damage any cable connections or
electronic components.
