Print area test mode
Byholding the IEJECT/PARK/buttondownduring power-up, theprinter will
enter the print area testmode. You can find how many lines on your paper
areavailable forprinting with l/6-inch linefeeding. Theprinter willshow the
“P3” message on the LCD display and print the first line message on the
paper,then print the last linemessage after feeding to the bottomof the page.
If you have loaded the fanfold paper, only the first linemessage is printed.
Pitch lock mode
By holding the EIEHl button down during power-up, the print pitch can
onlybe selected from the control panel. This prevents software interference.
Youwill hearan acknowledgingbeep, andthe printerwill showthe“P-LOCK”
message on the LCD display as power comes on.
Afterthe beep tone, you can set the printer off-line, select aprint pitch, then
return to on-line and startprinting. The pitch you selected will show on the
LCD display and will not be reset or otherwise changed by any commands
your software may issue.
Font lock mode
By holding the -button during power-up, fontscan only be selected
fromthe control panel. This prevents software interference. There will bean
acknowledgingbeep and“F-LOCK” message onthe LCDdisplay.After which
you can setthe printer off-line, select afont, then return to the on-line state
andbegin printing. The selected font will not be changed by any commands
your software may issue.
Font and Pitch lock mode
Ifyou want to protect both thefont and pitch settings fromsoftware changes,
pressboth the -and EEZZl buttons during power-up. There will be
two acknowledging beep tones with “P-LOCK” and “F-LOCK” messages on
the LCD display.
Pressing these buttonsduring power-up does not prevent you from making
any number of changes later from the control panel.
