Using microphone reinforcement in a large room

Microphone reinforcement
To improve speech intelligibility i n a large room, the local
microphones are played out o n speakers locally as well as b eing
sent to far end.
• The room can be viewed as bei ng divided in two zones. It
is assumed that there is a low acou stic coupling between
microphones in zone 1 and spe akers in zone 2 and vice versa.
• Microphones in zone 1 will be p layed out on all loudspeakers
in zone 2.
• Microphones in both zones wi ll be transmitted to far end.
• The input signal from far e nd will be played out on
loudspeakers in both zones.
