Optimal Definition Profiles
Under ideal lighting con ditions the bandwidth require ments can
be substantial reduced wi th the optimal definitions profile s.
Generally, we recommend the Opti mal Definition set at Normal.
If lighting condition is con ducive TANDBERG recommends that
you test the endpoint on the vario us Optimal Definition settin g
prior to implementation.
To set the optimal definition profile
Go to: Settings > Advanced > Adva nced settings > Video >
Input > Source [1..n] > OptimalDefinition > Profi le
Go to: Settings > Advanced > Adva nced settings > Video >
Input > Source [1..n] > OptimalDefinition > Th reshold60fps
The Camera settings must b e set to Motion to ensure the Optimal
Definition to work. With the Came ra settings set to Sharpness, th e
endpoint will transmit the h ighest resolution possib le, regardless
of frames per second.
To set the camera settings:
Go to: Settings > Advanced > Adva nced settings > Camera.

High (720p60)

Typically used in dedicated vid eo
conferencing rooms. Requ ires good
lighting conditions for a goo d overall
experience.
Under ideal conditions t he bandwidth
requirements can be reduc ed by up to
50%.

Medium (w576p60)

Typically used in rooms with bette r than
normal, and consistent ligh ting.
The bandwidth requirem ents can be
reduced by up to 25%.

Normal (w448p60)

This setting is typica lly used in office
environments where the envi ronment is
normal to poorly lit.
Generally, we recommend the Opti mal
Definition set at Normal.
