13–Using the tuner

This unit has a built-in tuner. By inputting the sound of an instrument, you can use the tuning meter on the display to tune that instrument accurately. In addition, you can output a tone for tuning from the built-in speaker or the /LINE OUT jack, which is convenient for tuning multiple instruments simultaneously, for example.

3.The first item shown for each mode is CALIB. Use this to set the frequency of A between 435 Hz and 445 Hz.

Preparation1.Press the TUNER button to open the TUNER screen.

2.The MODEitem is shown. Use the [ª] button and Á button to select the tuner mode. The options are

AUTO ( [ª] : chromatic tuner mode) and OSC. (Á : oscillator mode).

After selecting the mode, press the TUNER button again to make settings for that mode.

The setting value is shown on the right side of the screen. This setting is the same for both tuner modes.

Use of each tuner mode is explained below.

NOTE

The signal input through the left MIC/LINE input channel is used for tuning. When using the built-in microphones to tune acoustic guitars and other instruments that have rapid sound decay, in particular, tune the instrument as close to the left built-in microphone as possible.
