System settings (SETUP)

On the SETUPScreen, you can change various settings according to your use environment and other requirements. You can also initialize and format the SD card.

To access the SETUPscreen, press the MENU button to open the menu list, select the SETUPitem using the §/BROWSE and /MIC buttons and press the Á button or ¯ button.

You can make the following settings on the SETUPscreen.

Use the §/ BROWSE and /MIC buttons to select the desired item. (When selected, the “:” becomes “∑” and the setting value appears as light letters on a dark background.) Use the VALUE (+/–) buttons to change the setting value.

Setting the forward/backward search speed

Use the CUE/REV SPEEDitem to set the speed of forward/ backward searching when pressing and holding the Ô/button during audio file playback.

Options: x2, x4, x8(Default value), x10

Setting the automatic power off time

Use the AUTO OFFitem to set the time before the unit power automatically turns OFF after the last activity or operation when powered by the internal battery.

Options: OFF(Default value), 3min, 5min, 10min, 30min

Adjusting the display contrast

Use the CONTRASTitem to adjust the display contrast. Range: 1–20(Default value: 5)

Setting the battery type

Use the BATTERY TYPEitem to set the kind of batteries used in the unit. This setting is used to show the amount of remaining battery charge and to determine if the unit has enough power for normal operation.

Options: ALKAL(alkaline batteries, default value), Ni-MH(nickel-metal hydride batteries)
