2.Press the Á button to open a confirmation pop-up window.

3. Press the Á button to execute full formatting.

Press the [ª] button to cancel full formatting.

CAUTION

When formatting a card, use a TASCAM PS-P520 AC adapter (sold separately), USB bus power or confirm that the batteries are sufficiently charged. If the power fails during formatting, the formatting might not occur correctly.

Setting the file name format

You can set the format of the names given to files recorded by the unit.

1.Press the MENU button to open the MENUscreen.

2.Use the §/BROWSE and ¶/MIC buttons to select the FILE NAMEmenu item, and press the Á button or ¯ button to open the FILE NAMEscreen.

Use the §/BROWSE and /MIC buttons to select each item, (when selected, the “:” becomes an “” and the setting value is highlighted or the cursor is shown.

You can make the following settings for the items on the screen.

File name format

Use the VALUE (+/–)buttons to set the TYPEitem to WORDor DATE.

Options: WORD( default value), DATE

WORD: The six characters set in the WORDitem are used to name files.

Example: LR0000_0000.wav

DATE: The date is used to name files (yymmdd). Example: 090101_0000.wav

NOTE

The date is set according to the unit’s internal clock. (See “Setting the date and time” on page 45.)
