Instructions forserial numbers below B020100. This procedure tells how to
remove andreplace an LCD Display assembly (for example, to gain access to
another module). However,if you need to replace the LCD Display assembly
with a new one, please order the LCD Display Assembly Replacement kit from
Tektronixand follow the enclosed instructions.
Remove. Toremove the LCD display assembly:
1. Remove the top cover.Refer to Top Cover on page 6--5.
2. Disconnect thewires from the two backlight connectors.
3. Grasp the sides of the LCD display to lift it up off of the locating feet and
disconnect the ribbon cablefrom the back of the display module.
NOTE. The cable connecting the display module to the Bottom board is a zero
insertion-forceribbon cable. To remove the cable from the connector housing,
pull out the connectorlatch, and then pull the ribbon cable out of the connector.

NOTE. Some early instrumentsused cushion pads instead of locating feet to hold
the display module in position. If your instrument has cushion pads, replace the
pads at this time with locating feet. Contact your localTektronix representative
to orderthe necessary parts.
Replace. Toreplace the existing LCD Display Assembly:
1. Connect the ribbon cable fromthe B ottom board into the back of the display
module.
NOTE. The cable connecting the display module to the Bottom board is a zero
insertion-forceribbon cable. To install the cable into the connector, pull out the
connector latchand then push the ribbon cable into the connector housing.
When the cable restsagainst the back of the connector, press in the connector
latch to lock the cable in place. See Figure6--4.
