Thereisonlyonecalibrationfactorforthecalibrationoftheoxygenprobe.Thisisthesensoroffset,
anditiswrittenonatagattachedtoeveryprobe.
UsetheFUNCTIONkeystogotoSETUPmenu#1(2)andthenusetheOPTIONkeystosetthevalueto
thevaluewrittenonthetag.Ifindoubtthebestoptionistosettheoffsetto0.0mVbecausethiswill
onlyproduceanerrorofaround0.1%oxygeninacombustionapplicationfora1mVerrorintheoffset
value.

10.2COLDSTART
Theintentionofthecoldstartfunctionofthetransmitteristoreturnalloftheconfigurationsetup
backtothedefaultvalues.Thereare3partstothecoldstart:
1. Ifasoftwareupgradeisinstalledandthechangesrequireachangetothemenufunctionsthen
thetransmitterwillautomaticallydoacoldstart.Thetransmitterwillalsodoacoldstartwhen
thepoweristurnedonandtheconfiguration/calibrationfactorsarefoundtobecorrupted.It
willonlyreseteithertheconfigurationvaluesorthecalibrationvaluesifeitherofthemis
foundtobecorrupted.
2. Acoldstartcanbeforcediftheoperatorwantstoresetthetransmitterbacktothedefaultset
up.Seechapter10.2.1,ForcingaColdStart.
3. Resettingthecalibrationfactorsbacktothedefaultvalues.Seechapter10.2.2,Resettingthe
CalibrationFactors.
10.2.1FORCINGACOLDSTART
Thecoldstartcanbeinitiatedbyfollowingthesesteps:
1. Turnthetransmitterpoweroff.
2. UseafinepointorscrewdrivertoturntheCOLDSTARTswitchon.Theswitchisatthebottom
ofthe17321PCB,accessiblethroughthewindowintheshield.
3. Turnthetransmitterbackon.
4. Youwillbepromptedtoselect‘Reset’or‘Cancel’totheprompt‘ResetCalibrationData?’.
PresstheDISPLAYupkeytoresetthecalibrationfactorsandtheconfigurationdataorthe
ALARMupkeytoonlyresettheconfigurationofthetransmitter.
5. Turnoffthecoldstartswitchwhenpromptedby‘TurnoffC/StartSwitch’.
Ifthecalibrationfactorshavebeenreset,followtheinstructionsinchapter10.1torecalibratethe
transmitter.Ifonlytheconfigurationhasbeenresetitisalsoimportanttocheckitemsthatwillaffect
thetransmitteroutputs,numberofprobes,theserialcommunications,thesolenoidconfigurationand
otheritems.
10.2.2RESETTINGTHECALIBRATIONFACTORS
Ifitisrequiredtoresetthecalibrationfactors,followtheinstructionsintheprevioussectionand
select‘Reset’whenpromptedto‘ResetCalibrationData?’.
