6 Troubleshooting

This chapter explains the troubleshooting methods when this product is not running properly or when error messages are displayed.

6.1Checking the Link Status

The link status connection can be checked upon system start by starting the Light Pulse BIOS Utility.

How to start the Light Pulse BIOS Utility

When this product is installed, the following message appears at the system startup.

!!!BX600-FC42E BIOS, Copyright (c) 2005 Emulex !!! Version 1.70a3 Press <ALT E> to go to Emulex BIOS Utility

Press <s> to skip Emulex BIOS

While the above message is displayed, pressing [Alt] + [E] keys makes the Light Pulse BIOS Utility start, and the following message appears.

Enter <x> to Exit

￿To return from the Light Pulse BIOS Utility, press the [X] key.

￿Change the set value of the Light Pulse Bios Utility if necessary.

If the expansion ROM initialization value where this product is installed is "Disable" the "!!! BX600-FC42E BIOS, ***" message will not be displayed at system startup, and the BIOS cannot be started.

￿If starting this product's BIOS is necessary, set the ROM (Option ROM SCAN) settings in this servers BIOS to "Enabled".
