Chapter 11 Maintenance

Scanning glass and rollers

Clean the scanning glass and rollers frequently to ensure the quality of transmit- ted images and copies. Open the operation panel by pulling the front edge up (grasp it at the PANEL RELEASE mark), and clean the scanning glass and rollers as shown below.

Wipe the scanning glass, white back- plate, and rollers with a soft cloth.

Make sure that all dirt and stains (such as correcting fluid) are removed, as these will cause vertical lines on trans- mitted images and copies.

The housing

Wipe the external parts and surface of the machine with a dry cloth.

Caution!

Do not use benzene or thinner. These solvents may damage or discolor the machine.
