Straight stretch stitch

When you use the straight stretch stitch for stress seam or to seam knitted, stretch and elasticated fabric, both stretch and strength are built into the seam as it is being sewn.

Place garment right side up, under presser foot.

Required settings

Lower the foot and start machine, holding the thread ends as the first few stitches are made.

Guide the fabric lightly as you sew, letting the machine make the backward and forward stitches that give stretch to the seam.

Press seam after stitching.

Ric-Rac stitch

This is a heavy-duty, stretch stitch that can also be used for topstitching.

Sew seams in usual manner and press.

For topstitching hard-to-reach areas, convert machine to free arm sewing.

Slowly topstitch desired areas.

Pull threads to wrong side of fabric; tie and trim.

Punto recto flexible

Cuando utilice el punto recto flexible para costuras básicas o al coser tejidos de punto, extensibles o elastificados, se producen en las costuras, según se realizan, tanto la elasticidad como la fuerza.

Coloque el derecho del tejido debajo del prensatelas.

Baje el prensatelas y accione la máquina, sujetando los extremos de los hilos mientras se producen las primeras puntadas.

Guie el tejido con suavidad mientras cose, permitiendo que la máquina realice los puntos hacia atrás y adelante que aporta flexibilidad a la costura.

Punto Ric-Rac

Este es un punto de mucha fuerza, que puede utilizarse también como pespunte visto.

Cosa en la forma usual y planche.

Para pespunte visto en áreas de difícil acceso, convierta la máquina para coser con base libre.

Coloque la prenda del derecho debajo del prensatelas.

Pesputee despacio las áreas deseadas.

Lleve los hilos hacia el revés del tejido, anúdelos y córtelos.

Réglage de la tension

Lorsque la ten réglée, le point se noue dans l’épaisseur du tissu.

La tension est importe; si elle est trop lâche ou trop serrée, la couture plissera et sera moins solide.

Faites un essai sur un échantillon, en double, du tissu que vous allez coudre. Contrôlez cet essai. Pour que votre point soit bien réglé (1), le fil de l’aiguille et celui de la canette doivent être noués dans l’épaisseur du tissu sans bouclettes et sans plisser.

Une tension trop serrée tire le point (2) et fait plisser le tissu.

Pour desserrer la tension, tournez le bouton vers un chiffre moins élevé.

Une tension trop lâche donnera des points à bouclettes (3).

Pour resserrer la tension, tournez le bouton vers un chiffre plus élevé.
