Configuring the FCR200’s Ethernet Port

If you plan to use Ethernet to configure the FCR200, you must first set up serial communications with the FCR200 to configure the Ethernet port’s address.

The FCR200 provides an Ethernet port for connection to a standard 10BaseT Ethernet network. You can use Ethernet to perform the following activities:

Configure the FCR200 through Telnet. The configuration menus accessed via the serial port will be disabled when a telnet session is connected. When logging in for a telnet session, use “root” as the user name and “password” as the password.

Upgrading the FCR200’s firmware. You can use FTP or TFTP to send a new firmware image to the FCR200.

If you plan to use the Ethernet port, you must first configure its address. You can set the physical address, IP address, and IP subnet mask. The physical address is assigned to an Ethernet adapter by ADIC. The IP address is used to route information in a TCP/IP network. The IP subnet mask is used to establish a path to a default TCP/IP gateway.

To change the Ethernet physical address, IP address, or IP subnet mask, select 4) Ethernet Configuration from the Configuration menu.
