Receive a call
When you receive a call, the phone rings and the icon
flashes in the display.
Toanswer the call:
1. If your handset is on the base and auto talk is on, pick up
the handset.
Or
If your handset is on the base and auto talk is off, pick up the
handset and press .
Or
If your handset is off the base, press .
Earpiece/receiver volume
During a call you can adjust the volume of the
earpiece/handset receiver.Thereare5volume settings,
which are shown as Volume 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 on the display.
1. Press UPtoincrease or DOWN todecrease the volume.
As you increase or decrease the volume, the volume level is
displayed on the screen.

Caller Display
If you have subscribed to your
network’s Caller Display service, the
caller’s number (or name if stored in
the phonebook) is displayed instead
of
ExternalCall
.See page 57 for
moreinformation.
If the number is longer than 15 digits,
the display will only show the last 15
digits entered.
Autoanswer
As long as you have autoanswer set
to ON you can just pick the handset
up off the base toanswer a call. If you
have switched it off, you will need to
press . Auto talk OFF is the default
setting. For moreinformation on auto
answer, see page 33.
Internal calls
If the call is from another internal
handset, the number of the calling
handset will be displayed, instead of
ExternalCall
.
