Edges smeared with ink.

Problem 1: The selected Media Size is not correct for the media loaded in the paper supply source.

Solution: Confirm the current selection for the Media Size. If the setting is not correct, stop the print job, select the correct setting, then start the print job again. (ÆP.2-8)

Problem 2: Print media is curled or creased.

Solution: Remove the creasing or curling then start the print job again.

Problem 3: Platen is stained.

Solution: Load more than 2 sheets wider than the smeared media, then perform “Feed/Exit” on the operation panel.(ÆP.5-14)

White or Dark Streaks Visible.

Problem 1: Printhead is out of alignment.

Solution: When printing on plain paper, use the printer operation panel to perform band adjustment with the “Band Adjust” item. (ÆP.7-34)

Problem 2: The amount of paper feed from the paper cassette is incorrect.

Solution: If the media loaded in the cassette is plain paper, follow the procedure below.

1.On the operation panel, perform “LF Adjust” to print the line feed setting pattern. (ÆP.7-37)

2.If the line feed setting pattern is printed with streaks, perform “Paper Adjust” for each type of the media on the operation panel. (ÆP.7-40)

3.If the printer still prints streaks after performing “Paper Adjust”, perform “Band Adjust” on the operation panel. (ÆP.7-34)

Solution: If the media loaded in the cassette is not plain paper, perform “LF Adjust” on the operation panel. (ÆP.7-37) If “LF Adjust” does not solve the problem, perform “Paper Adjust” on the operation panel.

Problem 3: The types of the media loaded in the cassette and the type of the media selected for Paper Adjust do not match.

Solution: Select correct setting for “Paper Adjust”. (ÆP.7-40 )
