4.11 Unlocking the Cutter (iDP3421/3423)
1. Openthe printercover.
2. Pressthe FEED switch. The auto cutter is initialized to return its blade and clear an alarm.
3. If the paper is jamming,eliminate the jamming paper complet ely, seeing "4.9 Removing Pa per Jam."
4. Ifthe ala rm still cannot be clea red, turn off the power and open t he auto cutter.
5. You can see an emergency knob through a small hole in the back of t hea uto cutter.Using tweezers,
screwdriver,etc., turn the knobin the arrow-indicated directionto return the blade. If thereis a paper jam
or paper refuse,eliminate it complet ely.
CAUTION: •When pulling out the paper(Forward/Re verse direction),be sure to operate the
paper free lever.
•When closing the auto cutt er, do so gently not to give a shock.
