PRECAUTIONS FOR INSTALLATION
Do not use or stor e the equipment in a pl ace exposed to fire , moisture, or dire ct sunlight, or in a pla ce
near a heateror a thermaldevice where the prescribed operatingtemperature and humidityare not met,
or ina placeexposed to much oil, iron powder, or dust. The equipmentmay become out of order, emit
smoke, or catch fir e.
Do notinstall the equipment in a place like a laboratorywhere chemical reactions are expected,or in a
placewhere salt or gasesar e containedin the air. Thereis a danger of fire or electric shock.
Donot put anyobject on the printer. Itmay cause trouble.
Do not use the equipme nt near a radio or TV receiver. Do not share the pow er from a plug socket a
radio or TV receiver is connectedto. It may cause a reception problem.
Use the equipmentonly at the specified voltage and frequency. Otherwise,it may emit smoke and
catchfire or cause other problems.
Confirmthat a plugsocket used for connection has sufficient capacity.
Do not overload a single electrical outlet in connecting the power cable. It mayresult i n the cable
catchingfire or a poweroutage. Also, donot stampor put any object on the cable.
Neverconnect a groundingcable to a gas pipe. Thereis a danger of explosion. When connecting or
disconnecting the grounding cab le, be sure to d isconnect the power plug from the plug socket.
When connecting/disconnectingt he cables,be sure to turn off the power first, including the connected
side, and then connect/disconnect them, holding a plug and a connector. Do not pull or carry the
equipment with a load a pplied to the cable .
Connect a connector cable securely. Ifa reverse-polarity connection is made, internal elements may
be broken or a mating device may be adverse ly affected.
Use a shieldingwire or twistedpair wire for a signal line,in order to minimizenoise effect. Avoid
connecting to a device tha t is likely to gene rate noise.
When a drawer kick c onnector is provi ded, dono t connect an y device other tha nt he prescribed solenoi d
specifications. Negligence ofthis could cause trouble.
Use the equipment in an environment where there is a plug socket near the main body and you can
easily disconnect the power plug from it, to shut off the power.
When the equipment will not be used for along period of time, unplug i t.
When transporting the equipment, remove the rolled pap er from it.
Install the equipment on a flat, stable desk in a well-ventilated place free fr om vibrations. (Donot
blockthe ventilation port.)
