6. Connect the power and data cables to the drive and to the system board.

NOTE: The CD/DVD drive cable may be a SATA cable, which looks different than the IDE cable in the image below. For information on SATA cable connectors, see General Installation Guidelines.

7.Check all cable connections, and fold cables out of the way to avoid blocking airflow between the fan and cooling vents.

8.Replace the drive panel by aligning its hinges and rotating it up until it snaps into place.

9.Replace the computer cover (see Replacing the Computer Cover).

10.Verify that your computer works correctly by running the Dell Diagnostics (see Dell Diagnostics).
