Removing and Attaching the Mounting Plate
If you are installing a new hard disk drive in your computer, you need to attach a hard disk drive mounting plate to the drive. This mounting plate is currently attached to the side of the subassembly, as shown below.

Follow these steps to remove the mounting plate from your computer:
1.Turn the subassembly so that the front panel area is facing you. The vertical mounting area is located on the right side of the subassembly.
2.Using a screwdriver, remove the screw securing the mounting plate to the subassembly and set it aside. Then lift up the mounting plate to remove it.
