In the example on below, the current channel is 4.1 (on the OSD, the decimal point is shown as a hyphen); the channel name is NBC–4LA; the title of the program currently running is “Today”; the time is 1:37 pm; and the signal strength (shown by a vertical bar graph above the time) is medium.

Channel Information Display

The channel information display is a translucent window similar to the introductory channel display. It contains all the information that is in the introductory display plus the channel resolution, the language in which the current program is being broadcast, the program rating (G, TV-PG, TV-14, and so on), and whether or not closed captioning is on.

You can enable the OSD displays using the IR remote control (see the ”J Info“ button description under “Buttons on the AVT 200HD IR Remote Control,” earlier in this section), the configuration and control software (see the program help file), or SIS commands (see the On-screen display (OSD)” commands in the “Remote Configuration and Control” section). The channel information is displayed for approximately 3 seconds, then the window closes.

In the following example (read left to right), the current channel is 5.1; the channel name is KTLA-DT; the broadcast resolution is 1080i; the signal strength is medium, the program being broadcast is “Jerry Springer”; the time is 1:45 pm; the program is in English; closed captioning (CC) is enabled, and the program rating is TV-14.

Volume Level Display

Whenever the volume is adjusted by any method, the volume level display is shown on the screen for approximately 3 seconds.

Figure 32. Volume Level Display on the OSD

Unlike the volume display on the LCD screen, this on-screen display shows the volume increase or decrease in increments of 5% (20 steps). (Volume adjustments that are made using the front panel knob, the communication and control software, or SIS commands are displayed in the LCD window and on the computer screen in 1% increments [100 steps].)
