SNMP or Telnet Connection Examples

The DSU/CSU can be connected to an SNMP or Telnet system in a number of ways. Some examples include:

HDirectly connecting the COM port to the SNMP or Telnet device (Figure 2-4).

HConnecting the COM port to a network device (e.g., a router) (Figure 2-5).

HConnecting to an Ethernet LAN through the 10BaseT port (Figure 2-6).

HRemotely accessing the DSU/CSU through the Facility Data Link (FDL) or the synchronous data port’s Embedded Data Link (EDL) (Figure 2-7).
