3.6.2 Practice Example: Creating a Single Disk

Click on the Configure button near the top of the main window. Doing so displays three configuration buttons in the right side of the window: Create, Modify, and CLI.

To create a single disk, perform the following steps:

1.Click on the Create button.

The Create button opens and displays the Create window (see Figure 3–5). Use the Create window to select from the following choices: SPARE, RAID 0 - Stripeset, RAID 1 - Mirrorset, RAID 5/3 - Raidset, RAID 0+1, and Single Disk - JBOD.

CAUTION

EISA (SWIA3-BB) limitation:

If you are using an EISA SWIA3-BB (Adaptec 2744W) host system adapter, you are limited to four target Ids and only LUN0 per target ID. Multiple LUNs under a target ID is not supported. A maximum of four storage sets are allowed with a different target ID for each storage set.
