Recycling used supplies

Note: Lexmark does not rec- ommend refilling used toner car- tridges or purchasing refilled cartridges from a third party. Print quality and printer reliability cannot be guaranteed if you do. The printer warranty does not cover damage caused by using refilled cartridges.

Lexmark’s Operation ReSourceSM program lets you partic- ipate in a worldwide recycling effort at no cost to you.

Simply package your used toner cartridges and photocon- ductors in the shipping box used for the replacement sup- ply. Then follow the instructions on the outside of the box to send the used supply back to Lexmark.

If a prepaid shipping label is not available for your coun- try, contact the place where you bought your printer for additional recycling information.

Conserving supplies

There are several steps you can take to extend the life of your printer supplies and reduce overall printing costs. Depending on your printing requirements, you can reduce the amount of toner you use for each print job, print drafts of color documents in black only, and choose settings that help reduce wear on the photoconductors and the devel- oper rolls inside the toner cartridges.

Toner Saver setting Set Toner Saver On in the Color Menu to significantly reduce the amount of toner applied to each page. Print quality may vary, depending on the types of jobs you print. For example, if your document is composed largely of text and graphics, you may not detect any noticeable difference in the print quality when Toner Saver is On. If you are printing images, the colors in the images may appear slightly less saturated.
