Understanding printer menus

Alarms

Sets an alarm to sound when the printer requires user

 

Alarm Control

Cartridge Alarm

Available options for each alarm type are:

 

Staple Alarm

Off

 

Hole Punch Alarm

Single

 

 

Continuous

 

 

Notes:

 

 

Single is the factory default setting for Alarm Control and

 

 

Cartridge Alarm. Single sounds three quick beeps.

 

 

Off is the factory default setting for Staple Alarm and Hole

 

 

Punch Alarm. Off means no alarm will sound.

 

 

Continuous repeats three beeps every 10 seconds.

 

 

 

 

Timeouts

Specifies the number of minutes of inactivity before the system

 

Standby Mode

enters a lower power state

 

Disabled

Note: 15 minutes is the factory default setting.

Sleep Mode

systems begin entering a minimum power state

A lower setting conserves more energy, but may require

 

 

longer warmup times.

 

 

Select the lowest setting if the printer shares an electrical

 

 

circuit with room lighting.

 

 

Select a high setting if the printer is in constant use. Under

 

 

most circumstances, this keeps the printer ready to print

 

 

with minimum warmup time.

 

 

Sleep mode does not interact with Standby mode.

 

 

 

 

Timeouts

Sets the amount of time (in seconds) the printer waits before

This setting has no effect on PostScript emulation print

 

 

jobs.
